Hacker Space

The Hacker Space movement has really grown lately. I had an idea for something like this, but in my idea, it was going to be a hacker co-op of sorts. This was my idea.
First, there is the concern of location. Location, location, location! It would have to be central to mass transit, and be located in a safe neighborhood.
Then, there would have to be some kind of supervisory board of dedicated hackers, phreakers, and others. Other staffers would be a master-at-arms, and his job would be to work security detail, and there would also be a librarian. His job would be to amass a collection of technology-related books, magazines, videos, DVDs, CDs, etc. If there will ever a hacker space in the N.Y.C. area like what I have laid out here, I will volunteer to be the librarian.
There’s no point of having a hacker space if there will be no activities. Well, there is a whole host of things that could be done.
Hackers seem to have a love of model trains, and there would be an HO or O scale model train set that would be there for show and work. It would be a good way for train hobbyists and hardware hackers to make friends.
We can’t leave the software hackers out. There would also be numerous coding and penetration testing stations, public access terminals, and maybe even an AI lab.
For downtime, there would be a gaming area with every gaming console available, and PC games, too.
Obviously, there is the potential for many late nights. As such, there will have to be a well-stocked caffeine bar. A wide variety of energy drinks and energy shots will be on hand. Of course, there will have to be some serious field testing of the energy shots and drinks. As an aside to this, the hardware people could do work for people, i.e. repair gaming consoles, build things, etc. This could also be a good way to bring in some income to the space.
Prometheus couldn’t keep a good thing to himself, and the hacker space shouldn’t be a totally closed thing. The space would have the occasional open house, Christmas party, and other social functions. An emissary from said hacker space would visit other spaces, and said space would be visited by other emissaries. Soon, the hacker scene would get stronger and tighter. There could even be worldwide syndicates and networks formed. The next level would be gotten to a lot sooner.
So, who has some space available?
